Krusher By Euphrates
The Krusher is just one of many action figures that Mattel churned out in 1979. This figure
was made of green rubber and stood an intimidating 15-inches tall. The thing that makes this
monster unique was his ability to, well, morph! A child could "krush" The Krusher like you would
a leaky baseketball and lock him into that size courtesy of a valve on his belt. Then,
release the valve and he springs back to his original size!
The Krusher is a hard find, despite his age and lack of popularity. I'm not sure why The Krusher did not enjoy a longer run, especially considering the success of his Kenner cousin Stretch Armstrong. He had the name, the look and a gimmick but the 3 and 3/4 inch action figure rage of the late '70s and early '80s may have deflated the Krusher forever. |
